Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson reached another historical milestone during Sunday’s win over the Giants.

Jackson’s career rushing total topped the 6,000-yard mark on Sunday, with Jackson now having 6,001 rushing yards in his NFL career. He joins Michael Vick as the only quarterbacks in NFL history with 6,000 rushing yards.

By the end of the season, Jackson will likely surpass Vick as the NFL’s all-time career rushing leader among quarterbacks. Vick retired with 6,109 career rushing yards, so Jackson needs 109 rushing yards in the Ravens’ final three games to surpass Vick. That would mean an average of 36.3 yards a game. Jackson averages 60 rushing yards per game in his career.

Once Jackson surpasses Vick, he’s going to put the record for quarterback rushing yards out of reach for years to come. Among active quarterbacks, Russell Wilson is next at 5,364 rushing yards, but Wilson is eight years older than Jackson and has no realistic chance of catching him.

Next among active quarterbacks is Josh Allen with 4,095 career rushing yards. Allen is running the ball as well as he ever has, but is a few months older than Jackson and very unlikely to make up the nearly 2,000-yard gap between them.

No other active quarterback is even close to Jackson. If anyone is ever going to break Jackson’s record for career rushing yards by a quarterback, it’s probably someone who isn’t even in the league yet.
