JUST IN: Liverpool captain signs new deal at Liverpool until June 2027, agreement sealed and confirmed.

BREAKING NEWS: OFFICIAL, Vigil Van Dijk signs new deal at Liverpool until June 2027, agreement sealed and confirmed.

He’s staying at the club despite important proposals on the table from top European clubs. The ‘Dutch King’ that is Van dijk is staying at Anfield!

“I think first, all the focus should be going to the Hillsborough anniversary,” says Van Dijk. “I think that’s the main thing and then we’ll see. The focus will still be on Leicester, but maybe there’s some news. I know … but I don’t know.”

And the broad smile on his face tells you everything. Van Dijk is delighted to be staying at Anfield until at least the summer of 2027 – and probably for longer. And he is happy to explain why he is staying at the club and why there was clearly no chance of him being tempted by a move to somewhere else, even though the negotiations over a fresh agreement have gone to this late stage.

He explains: “I love the club, that’s pretty obvious. I think you can see that in the way I speak about the club, the way I work for the club in terms of what I do on the pitch on and off the pitch, and that will always be the same.

“I think it’s the whole combination. I joined the club in 2017 for many reasons. Reasons like how much it means to all the Scousers, to all the fans around the whole world how to be connected to Liverpool.

“Being successful with Liverpool, the culture of the club, everything that embodies Liverpool … that is just part of me. That’s why I’m always proud when I wear that shirt, go out there and try to be the best version of myself in terms of the football player that I am.”

Aston Villa are making progress to hijack Arsenal target with Rosenborg.

Nypan is regarded as one of the biggest prospects in European football. The Norwegian has been playing regular top-flight football for Rosenborg since the age of 16.

Arsenal were confident of being able to land him after holding very positive talks in January, but the player ultimately decided against moving in the winter. City Football Group-owned Girona were also in talks to sign Nypan with a view to a future move to Manchester City.

Aston Villa are working to close a deal to sign midfield talent Sverre Nypan from Rosenborg.

Sverre Nypan has been a target for the likes of Villa, Arsenal and Girona — holding talks with them all in the winter market before deciding to readdress the situation ahead of the summer window.

There is optimism at Villa Park that the coveted 18-year-old is enthusiastic about a move there, although they must still agree personal terms and a fee with Rosenborg, so a deal is not yet done.

Aston Villa will hope to finalise Nypan’s arrival in what may prove a significant coup, given the battle to secure the Norway youth international’s services.

Nypan scored his first goal of the new Norwegian season earlier this month after netting eight times last year and providing 10 assists across all competitions. He has been likened to compatriot Martin Odegaard, but he will soon be able to forge his own path in the Premier League.

Liverpool pushing hard for a £95m double Bournemouth deal

Referencing Alexander-Arnold, Ornstein confirmed: “It’s a different situation with Trent Alexander-Arnold. The expectation is that he will leave for Real Madrid as a free agent at the end of the season.

“Perhaps some criticism for Liverpool, for FSG on that front, for them leaving it late on a younger player who has come through the system to Liverpool at Anfield.”

David Ornstein’s comments follow fresh on from the information provided to our transfer insider Fraser Fletcher, who has revealed the Reds are preparing for what sources described to him as a historic summer transfer window with Arne Slot to put his mark down on the squad.

Darren Fletcher also was first to break the news of Liverpool’s interest in Milos Kerkez way back in September, while he has also been informed that the Reds have held discussions with the agent of Huijsen as they attempt to win a crowded race for the Spain defender’s signing.

He is Aided by a £50m exit clause in his Bournemouth deal, Fletcher has confirmed that the Reds are joined by Real Madrid, Chelsea, Newcastle.

JUST IN: Arsenal are in transfer contact with Nico Williams who has won 12 league titles

Arsenal’s hopes of signing Nico Williams could be dealt a huge blow as the winger is reportedly considering a lifelong contract with Athletic Club.

This leaves the Gunners in desperate need of a new wide man, with several links to numerous different players already surfacing.

The Spaniard registered his tenth league goal contribution of the season on Sunday evening, spectacularly firing past Augusto Batalla in the Ray Vallecano net at the Estadio de San Mames.

The strike set the Basque side on their way to victory, with Ernesto Valverde’s team ultimately easing past Vallecano 3-1, cementing their place in the top four.

Completing three dribbles per 90 minutes, he’d certainly add a chaos factor to an Arsenal attack that is often predictable and sterile.

However, Williams’ isn’t yet particularly effective at turning his dribbling into particularly valuable moments inside the opposition box, as shown by his disappointing underlying numbers.

The raw ingredients are there, but anyone expecting the player to come straight into the Gunners’ side and be excellent immediately doesn’t have an accurate view of what he is as a player.

BREAKING NEWS: Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has confirmed a big injury boost for Arsenal as Key Arsenal player returns.

BREAKING NEWS: “He’s back to training now and will probably play against Madrid this week”

Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta has confirmed a big injury boost for Arsenal as Key Arsenal player returns to training despite doctor’s out of the season prediction – Not Gabriel and Not Havertz

The Gunners lost more grip on the Premier League title on Saturday evening as they dropped points at home to Brentford at the Emirates Stadium.

Thomas Partey opened the scoring in the second-half but Yoane Wissa equalised from close range. The draw means that Liverpool can now become champions next weekend when they take on Leicester City, if Arne Slot’s side beat West Ham United on Sunday and then Arsenal lose to Ipswich Town next weekend.

Fortunately for the Gunners, the Champions League journey continues and they travel to Real Madrid on Wednesday looking to defend a 3-0 lead.

Thomas Partey

Injury: Unknown

Eight minutes after opening the scoring, Partey was forced off and replaced by Jurrien Timber. Fears have emerged over his fitness for the trip to Spain in midweek.

What Mikel Arteta has said: “Yeah, he felt something so we didn’t want to take any risks,” he said. “We don’t know, I haven’t spoken to the doctors yet. So they will check him now and see how he is.”

Benjamin White

Injury: Knock

Jay Jay Sport understands that Ben White missed the game on Saturday after picking up a knock in training. There’s hope that it doesn’t impact his participation against Madrid.
