Led Zeppelin Legend Robert Plant Announces New Studio Album ‘Saving Grace’, Featuring Ozzy Osbourne: “A Songbook of the Lost and the…
Rock fans, brace yourselves—two titans are colliding. Robert Plant, the iconic frontman of Led Zeppelin, has officially announced his upcoming studio album, Saving Grace, and in a stunning move, it features a guest appearance from none other than the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne.
Described by Plant as “a songbook of the lost and the reckless,” Saving Grace is shaping up to be one of the most emotionally raw and musically daring projects of his solo career. Scheduled for release this fall, the album promises to blend Plant’s signature haunting vocals with sweeping arrangements, bluesy undertones, and a touch of experimental fire. But it’s the Ozzy feature that has truly set the rock world ablaze.
The two legends—both hailing from the West Midlands and long-time pioneers of different branches of rock—have rarely crossed paths musically. But on the track titled “Graveyard Blues”, they finally unite. The result? A dark, spellbinding duet that Plant describes as “a communion of ghosts, grit, and grace.”
Speaking to Mojo Magazine, Plant revealed how the unlikely collaboration came about.
“I’d been working on this idea for a while—it’s part lullaby, part dirge. I kept hearing this voice in my head that wasn’t mine. It was Ozzy’s. So I called him, and he said, ‘Send it over. Let’s scare some people.’”
True to form, Ozzy delivered a performance both mournful and magnetic, lending his unmistakable snarl to a track that deals with love, loss, and wandering souls.
Saving Grace is Plant’s first full studio album since Carry Fire (2017), and it marks a clear evolution in both sound and sentiment. While past solo projects leaned heavily on folk, Americana, and North African influences, this new album draws from the darker corners of Plant’s imagination. The album also features contributions from his long-time collaborator Suzi Dian, guitarist Justin Adams, and even a guest appearance from Jack White on a stomping blues number titled “Broken Lantern.”
The project’s title, Saving Grace, is a nod to Plant’s recent tour of the same name, where he explored gospel, Appalachian roots, and the soul of Americana. But as Plant puts it, the album pushes even deeper.
“This is not about redemption. It’s about recognizing the beauty in being lost. It’s about the people who walk on the edge, and the songs that keep them company there.”
Ozzy, for his part, was thrilled to be involved. In a brief statement shared via his team, he said:
“Robert Plant is a legend’s legend. When he asked, I didn’t even hesitate. We’ve both walked some long, strange roads, and this song—man, it hit me deep.”
Ozzy’s vocal contribution was recorded in Los Angeles during a break from promoting his memoir Last Rites, and Plant reportedly reworked parts of the song to better match Ozzy’s tone and energy.
The full tracklist of Saving Grace includes 11 original songs, with titles like “Midnight Reverie,” “Ashes and Bells,” “Little Town of Sorrow,” and “The Devil’s Fiddle.” According to insiders, the album is steeped in introspection but never wallows. Instead, it moves, twists, and surprises—just like the legends behind it.
With Plant and Ozzy sharing space on one record, Saving Grace is already being hailed as a generational moment—a meeting of two mythic forces who helped shape the face of rock and continue to evolve decades later.
Pre-orders for the album open next week, and a limited-edition vinyl pressing of Saving Grace will include behind-the-scenes liner notes written by Plant himself, offering fans a deeper glimpse into the minds of two of music’s most enduring rebels.
One thing is clear: this isn’t just an album—it’s an event.
